Connect your AI agent
Connect Timestamply to your agent to generate YouTube chapters and check your remaining video quota, right in your conversation. Sign in with your Timestamply account — no API key needed.
Let your agent set it up
Copy this message into Codex, Claude Code or Cursor. Your agent can configure the connection; you just complete the sign-in and approve access.
Connect Timestamply to this agent using its remote MCP server: https://api.timestamply.io/api/mcp
Follow the setup instructions at https://timestamply.io/docs/mcp for this client. Preserve my other MCP servers and allow up to 15 minutes for tool calls if supported.
Let me sign in to Timestamply and approve access in my browser. Then call get_usage to confirm the connection. Wait for me to ask before generating chapters.Prefer to connect it yourself?
Choose the agent you have installed.
Codex
Run this command in a terminal with the Codex CLI installed:
codex mcp add timestamply --url https://api.timestamply.io/api/mcpFollow the browser sign-in and approve access. If sign-in does not open automatically, run:
codex mcp login timestamply --scopes usage:read,timecodes:generateStart a new Codex chat after connecting. The CLI, app and IDE extension on the same computer use the same MCP settings.
Allow time for video processing
Generation can take several minutes. In ~/.codex/config.toml, update the existing Timestamply section to allow up to 15 minutes per call. Keep your other servers and avoid adding a second section with the same name.
[mcp_servers.timestamply]
url = "https://api.timestamply.io/api/mcp"
tool_timeout_sec = 900Claude Code
Run this command in your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user timestamply https://api.timestamply.io/api/mcpOpen Claude Code, type /mcp, select Timestamply and follow the browser sign-in. Approve access to finish connecting.
If video processing times out
Add "timeout": 900000 to the Timestamply entry under mcpServers in ~/.claude.json, then restart Claude Code. This lets a call run for up to 15 minutes. Preserve the other settings.

}Cursor
Open the link on a computer with Cursor installed, then confirm the server installation.
Add to Cursor ↗In Cursor’s MCP settings, enable Timestamply and follow the sign-in prompt to approve access.
Or add the configuration manually
Merge this entry into ~/.cursor/mcp.json for all projects, or .cursor/mcp.json in one project. Keep your existing MCP servers.

}You’re connected. Try asking:
- “Check my remaining Timestamply video quota.”
- “Generate YouTube chapters for this video with Timestamply: [paste your YouTube link].”
Checking your quota is free. Generating chapters uses the video allowance on your Timestamply plan, just like the website. Video duration limits still apply.
